Ideas for Your Autumn-Themed Wedding
Autumn-themed weddings allow you to play with rich, vibrant colors and to easily bring the outdoors in, using many gifts from nature to complete your decorative theme.
Creative hand-made invitations should be your first autumn inspired task. Go for hand-made invites in corrugated board and decorate them with beautiful, colorful leaves in orange and red. Add in some cinnamon sticks and strings of hay and burn the edges to create a true rustic feel.
Bring the outdoors into your reception hall, and use leaves and wood shavings for décor. Place two small branched trees at either side of your main table and wrap orange tinted fairly lights around them for a deep, romantic touch. Scatter wood shavings around the dance floor and in front of the main table on the floor. Use red or orange glass with bright red or orange flowers as your centerpieces and complete the look with red or orange glass votives with glittering candles.
Use rich brown table cloths made out of crushed velvet and drape the backdrop of your main table in the same fabric, finishing it off with orange fairly lights. Look out for gold spray-painted plate underliners and orange-tinted glassware. Spray paint pears in gold, orange and red and place two pairs at every second setting to represent a perfect pair.
Consider your wedding cake. A traditional wedding cake may look a little out of place at your autumn wedding. Why not opt for three stacks of cheese instead? This makes a lovely color-rich cake and serves as a great pre-reception, post-ceremony snack. Serve it with crackers while you are having your bridal photos taken.
