The Benefits of Spinning

Spinning is an aerobic-based exercise that takes place on a specially designed stationary bike called a "spinning bike". The spinning bike is immobile and simulates an actual ride. Similar to other group training classes there is a trained instructor in the front of the room motivating you through a set program and telling you when to change resistance or speed.

Spinning has become very popular in fitness centers over the past fifteen years. Spinning burns serious calories (about 450 in 45 minutes), offers an awesome aerobic workout that makes your heart pump fast, and tones your quadriceps (front thigh muscles) and outer thigh muscles.

The wonderful thing about spinning is that it doesn't involve a lot of coordination, which makes it easier to concentrate on technique. You are also in control of your intensity and pace throughout a typical 45-60 minute class.
