How Do Sea and Land Breezes Work?
During the day the land is hotter than the ocean. The air rises up over the land (convection) and is replaced by air from the sea (advection) thus a breeze blows from the sea (sea breeze). At night the opposite occurs as the sea is warmer than the land and air flows from the land to the sea (land breeze).
