Broccoli Nutrition Information

Take advantage of the delicious fresh broccoli in markets and greengrocers to help you boost your immune system. This plant is an excellent source of vitamins A, B, C and E and also contains iron, folate and calcium in large quantities.

Broccoli belongs to the cabbage family and is rich in anti-oxidants which help fight cancer. It is also rich in carotenoids and, due to its abundance of chlorophyll, is potent in blocking the cell mutations that precede cancers.

Broccoli

Colon, rectal and lung cancer patients respond favorably to eating lots of broccoli — the risk of cancer decreases the more broccoli you eat. Research has proved that half a cup of broccoli a day is the most amazing food for good heath.

For smokers and those exposed to smoke, broccoli is an essential component in your diet as it helps to maintain clear lungs.

Broccoli can be eaten raw in salads or with dips, or it can be steamed and eaten as is, or served with a light nut, or similar sauce.
