Camping Tips
Feel like roughing it in the wild? Before you go camping, here are some helpful tips to make your experience more
enjoyable.
First and foremost, do some research on campsites before you book your trip. You want to find a place that is
safe, but one that also has basic facilities such as a nearby water tap and toilet facilities. Some sites are
equipped with more amenities, so find one that you like.
Basic camping equipment is a must for any camper. A tent and a sleeping bag would be the basic necessities, so make sure
you find ones that suit your needs and requirements. You will also need some basic cooking materials, including stainless
steel plates, mugs and cutlery. You will also need a few pots and pans as well as a portable gas braai or skottel. Don’t
forget utensils and cleaning materials.
Depending on your choice of food, a cooler box might be a good idea to keep your uncooked meals fresh.
Your choice of clothing also needs to be looked at before you plan your trip. Avoid all high fashion outfits and all the
extras you don’t need. Pack a warm jacket, swimming costume, tracksuit pants, shorts, vests and t-shirts.
Other items to put on your camping list include games, books, a first aid kit, mosquito repellent, sun block,
sunglasses, a hat and some camping chairs.
Have fun on your camping experience!
