What are Cherry Spots?

Cherry spots are bright red or purple papules (pimples) which appear on the chest and trunk in later life.

They are usually about 3 mm. across and consist of tiny blood vessels. Other names for the condition are cherry angioma and Campbell de Morgan spots. They are harmless, give no pain, and in spite of some people's fears do not turn into cancer.
