What are Chilblains?
A reddish-blue discoloration of the skin, accompanied by swelling, which usually affects the toes, fingers and the back of the legs. It can occur elsewhere, for example, over the buttocks in those working out of doors in tight jeans, or on the calves and ankles of females who have fat ankles and poor circulation of the skin. When severe, the skin may ulcerate.
