What is Cirrhosis of the Liver?

A chronic disease often associated with drinking alcohol; knobbly fibrous tissue, like scar tissue, replaces the cells as they become damaged. If the disease can be stopped in time, the undamaged liver can regenerate itself back to a normal state.

Cirrhosis is more common in men, with symptoms usually appearing in the thirties and becoming severe in the forties.
