Color Coding for Your Skin Type
It all depends on your skin type and, more specifically, your skin color. If you have a soft, pale skin with an almost porcelain like tone, like celebrity counterparts Nicole Kidman and Scarlett Johansson, then a pale color palette will suit your skin tone. Here we're talking baby blues and pale pinks. Lilac and a soft, dusty gray and orange are also great options. Colors that are too bright will make your face appear even paler.
If your skin has a golden glow, like celebrity counterparts Jennifer Aniston and Charlize Theron then bright, clear and crisp colors will suit you best. Bright pinks, bright yellows and a range of blues will look good on you and make you really "pop". Pair your bright colors with a color that is neutral and toned down.

The colors you wear can either make you fade into the background, or stand out from the crowd. It's all about knowing which colors to wear… |
|
So, bright shades on top, and plain, neutral colors at the bottom or visa versa. Don't wear too many colors at once – a rule of thumb is to wear no more than three different colors in one outfit.
If you have a deeper, richer skin tone like celebrity counterparts Halle Berry or Penelope Cruz go for rich, dark colors that sparkle on your skin. Purple, maroon, gold, red and orange look amazing on this type of skin tone.
If your skin is dark like celebrity counterparts Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks then richer, darker colors will look best on you. For example, purple, pink, red, orange and navy blue.
