Colors That Pop
You always hear stylists and fashionistas from around the globe talking about colors that "pop". But what exactly are colors that pop and what are these fashion fundi's talking about?
Bold, bright colors are very trendy right now and the right color or the right combination of colors can "pop". In other words, the color really stands out – takes center stage and makes a bold statement.
Neutral colors such as black, white, khaki and gray always look good on just about any body shape. But adding a bit of color to spice up the bland, faded look, can really make a fashion statement. For instance, lets take a pair of plain black pants, coupled with a nice black jersey and black heels. What do you see? A black, black outfit that's dull, depressing and dreary.
Now picture that same outfit with a gorgeous, bright red scarf and instantly, your look is separated from the crowd.
Too many colors on the other hand are overpowering and can make a you look like a garage sale gone wrong. So, when experimenting with all the seasons color trends, stick to a maximum of three colors, or if you really want to achieve the "pop" effect, go for plain, subtle colors and add a bright, funky and gorgeous accessory.
Colors that "pop" don't have to be limited to your wardrobe colors only. Try mix them up by adding a few bright sparks to your nail polish, your makeup, your shoes, belts or costume jewelry.
