What Is Conjunctivitis?

Conjunctivitis, also known as ‘pink eye’ is an inflammation of the conjunctiva (the outer lining) of the eye causing the eye to appear red.

It can be caused by viruses, bacteria, allergies, injuries, and toxins — anything, in fact that causes this delicate tissue to become inflamed.

Symptoms include redness, swelling, itchiness, discomfort, pus, crustiness and sometimes pain.
