Who Makes a Good Candidate?

The best candidates for eyelid surgery are men and women who are physically healthy, psychologically stable, and who have realistic expectations. Most patients are aged 35 or older; their reasons for electing the surgery are varied. Both men and women have similar goals — to look younger.

While 22% of men are more likely to opt for the procedure for work-related reasons, 23% of women express a desire “to look less tired,” and 17% want to “look or feel better”. Several noticeable trends have been established. Half of the surveyed surgeons have noted that the procedure was given as a gift.
