Facelift Surgery
Preparing for Surgery
If you are a smoker, you will be instructed to stop smoking a week or two before surgery. Smoking inhibits blood flow and can interfere with healing of incision areas; follow the doctor’s directions explicitly. Stop taking medications, including aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs that could increase bleeding, that your doctor instructs you to.
The doctor may advise that you grow your hair out if your hair is short, to cover incisions until they heal. Wear comfortable clothing the day of surgery; pants and a top that buttons in the front might be best. Have someone on hand to drive you home after the surgery. You may also require help around the house for a few days.
