Detox Foods: Best Foods for Detox
Detoxing is a great way to clean out your digestive system and get your body back to optimal functioning. When detoxing, you are removing any toxic substances from your body for general health.
A good detox plan should be followed for no more than three weeks and should include foods that help to clean the colon, enhance circulation and clear out the accumulation of toxic substances.

Nuts and seeds are great for improving digestion. Try almonds, cashews and walnuts. Sunflower, pumpkin, sesame and flax seeds can be sprinkled over most meals. Stay away from peanuts and remember to stock up on nuts that are unsalted.
Fresh Veggies
Fresh veggies are great for detoxing. Go for green leafy vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage and spinach. Broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and onions are also great for detoxing.
Onions
The number one detox food has got to be onions. Stock up on these and add them to your detox soups.
Fruit
Just about all fruit is good for detoxing.
Beans
Go for green peas and beans. Lentils, kidney beans, mung beans and even chickpeas make great detox beans and also make great soup companions.
Water
Water is a key ingredient for any detox program. Take in at least 2-3 litres of water. Add some variety by squeezing a fresh lemon or lime into plain or sparkling water.
