Be Wary of “Diet” Snack Foods
Be wary of “diet” snack foods. In an attempt to improve texture or taste, foods that are sugar-free are often laden with fat and similarly some that are fat-free are high in sugar. In addition, “diet” foods often have other unhealthy additives. Try to aim for the more natural, less processed foods wherever possible (e.g. fresh fruit rather than dried fruit rolls).
With proper portions and healthy food choices, snacking can enhance, rather than hurt your diet. Think of a snack as a “mini meal” that will help you have a healthy diet, rather than as an opportunity to consume treats. Healthy snack foods will provide you with a great tool for permanent weight loss!
