Dressing Tips for Big Arms
If you are feeling self-conscious about your big arms, then follow these style savvy dressing tips to help you feel more comfortable and more confident.
Stay away from sleeveless tops and especially halter necks and spaghetti straps. If you absolutely must wear a vest, go for one that has wider straps. Look out for button-up shirts that have a nice, tapered (but not tight) and detailed cuff, and preferably ones that have a loose fitting upper sleeve. This will draw attention to your wrist area and away from your upper arms.
Shirts with larger, bell style cuffs are really appealing, provided the upper portion of the sleeve is not too tight or too bulky.
It is also advisable to buy your clothes in bigger sizes and have them altered to fit the rest of your body. First and foremost you need to accommodate your arms, and if you have a smaller body, and big arms, then a top in your size may fit too tightly around the arm, resulting in an unappealing look.
T-shirts are great, but avoid cap sleeves as these cut off your shoulder and place all the focus on your upper arm – the area you are trying to conceal.
For a sexy and stylish evening look, you can wear a shoulder shrug around your upper arms. If you don't want to worry about holding the shrug all night long, try pin it in the center (at your chest) with a stunning brooch.
