Vitamin A helps form and maintain healthy teeth, skeletal and soft tissue, mucous membranes, and skin. Vitamin A promotes good vision, especially in low light. It may also be needed for reproduction and breast-feeding.
Foods high in vitamin A include fish-liver oil, margarine, butter, cheese, egg, herring, sardine, kidney, carrot, spinach, watercress, dried apricots, tomato, prunes, cabbage, oranges and grapefruit.
