What is Gangrene?

Death of tissue, usually from an inadequate blood supply. In dry gangrene the affected part will often drop off. Wet gangrene usually causes serious toxic effects from infection. Gas gangrene is a form of anaerobic muscle infection causing muscle death and severe general upset.
