Diet Plan vs. Healthy Eating
Ever wondered how some people just seem to stick to their good eating habits? Generally these are the same
people who are envied at dinner parties, on the beach, at malls and just about everywhere they go, simply because
they always seem to look so good and never diet.
Why is it then, even though you’ve dieted, you find yourself on the other side of the fence? After all, isn’t a diet
supposed to make you look and feel better? Why is it then, every time you go on diet you end up back at square one? Fat,
depressed and looking worse than what you did before you went on diet.
If you want to lose the weight and keep it off, don’t diet. Yes, that’s what I said: don’t diet. Diets don’t
work for long-term weight loss. Diets are short, quick fixes that last only a couple of weeks or months and once
the "dieting phase" is over what do you do? You guessed it: return to your old eating habits and watch the weight
pile back on with a vengeance.
In order to maintain lifelong weight loss, don’t give up food. Give up dieting instead. Get yourself educated on healthy
eating and completely change the way you eat. Don’t eat healthy because you have to, do it because you want to. Before you
know it, you’ll be a healthy eater by habit and not think twice about it.
You’ll be surprised at how tasty healthy food can be. Do your research and get yourself a cookbook for some
inspiring ideas.
And remember: don’t view healthy eating as a diet and never ever confuse the two. A diet is something you do for a short
period while healthy eating is something you do for life. If you are serious about wanting to lose weight and maintain a
healthy, balanced life, make healthy eating a priority and reap the rewards.
