Elecampane (Inula Helenium)
It is mainly the roots of this plant that are used. The plant is especially
important for metabolic processes. Its uses range from appetite loss to
poor digestion, stomach and bowel disorders to replete sensations and
congestion of the liver. It promotes bowel movements and at the same time
rids the body of excess watery elements, which is important for all inflammatory
processes. In addition it is used for the respiratory tract where it acts
as an anti-spasmodic. It should also be taken for bronchitis.
Elecampane is available in tea, tincture or syrup form.
