How to Wear the High-Waisted Belt
High-waisted belts are making a comeback, but this time round they are trendy and can turn a simple little outfit into a glammed A-list styled look.
From the catwalk to the red carpet and even at your local shopping mall, you'll notice that the girls are going crazy over high-waisted belts. Thick and thin, from PVC to satin, high-waisted belts and high-waisted accents are making a comeback.
Worn with dresses, skirts, pants and even over business suits, this elegantly wasted fashion accessory takes a small detail and turns it into a huge deal. It cinches in your waist and in all the right places, creating that sexy hourglass figure.
High-waisted belts can look good on any figure; it's just about dressing it up the right way. If you're long and lean, you can go for just about any look. But if you're more on the curvaceous side, then you probably want to hide your bumps.
A good look for you is a simple white button up shirt that is tailored. Get it nipped in the waist, so that it fits looser around your tummy. With this look, you can wear your high-waisted belt around the fitted area, and no one will even know what you're hiding underneath. Never, ever wear the belt in the middle of your tummy if you have a fuller figure, or you will just cause more unnecessary bumps ahead.
High-waisted belts work well with both casual, daytime looks, and can be used to dress up a little black number for a night on the town. Try a plain black dress that's simple and sophisticated and pair it with a glitzy high-waisted belt. You're instantly transformed from plain Jane into stylish fashionista.
