What is Insulin?

The pancreatic hormone that controls the blood sugar levels. Blood is monitored by the pancreas and if the sugar levels become too high, more insulin is released. This acts to promote storage of sugar in the muscles and the liver. A deficiency of insulin causes diabetes.
