Interior House Painting Tips
Are you looking to add some spice to your life? Painting your interior walls might be just what you need to make
your home more exciting and inviting!
To get started, there are several things that you will need. Be sure to have on hand floor cloths, furniture covers,
painter's tape, wall primer, paint, and paint brushes (roller and bristle). First, remove all furniture from the room or
cover it with furniture covers. Next, cover the floor completely with floor cloths, making sure that all edges are fully
covered.
The next step requires using painter's tape to tape all of the edges in the room. (Make sure that you include
this step to ensure a professional look.) For instance, tape is placed at the point where the ceiling and the floor
meet the wall or molding.
Now you are ready to actually paint. If your current walls are not white, one to two coats primer must be applied and
allowed to completely dry. Once the primer is dry, you are ready to apply the actual color. First, you must "cut in" the
wall, meaning that a bristle brush is used to paint all corners in the room. Next, grab a roller brush and dip it into the
paint pan and apply paint to the wall using long strokes. Allow this first coat to dry and then apply a second coat, making
sure that the wall is covered evenly. When the paint is dry, remove the painter's tape from the walls.
