Jeans: An Essential Clothing Item
Jeans are trousers made from denim. Mainly designed for work, they became popular among teenagers starting in the 1950s. Historic brands include Levi's, Lee and Wrangler. Jeans come in various types, for example, skinny jeans, boot cut, or flare.
Jeans are now a very popular form of casual dress around the world, and have been so for decades. They come in many styles and colors; however, “blue jeans” are particularly identified with American culture, especially the American Old West. The American population spent more than $14 billion on jeans in 2004.
Everyone can wear jeans, provided they’re a pair that fits well. Narrow-leg jeans look good on most people and are great with the tunic-style tops that are currently in vogue because they slim down the look.
The bootleg cut is also a flattering style because it balances out bigger hips and can make your body look more in proportion. It’s also an easy style to wear with a wide range of tops.
Wide-leg jeans are only for people who are tall and slim — if you are curvy, they make you look fuller, and if you are shorter, they make you look tiny. If you do go for wide-leg styles, choose a more fitted top.
Low-waisted styles have been fashionable for a while now, but a higher waist is coming back and it is better for concealing those muffin-top rolls.
