What is Leucopoenia?

Leucopoenia is a medical term indicating a low level of white blood cells (leucocytes). This may indicate a viral infection or leukemia. In an adult the normal range is between 4,000 and 10,000 leucocytes per cubic millimeter. The elderly have lower levels than younger adults.
