Lose Those Winter Kilos the Smart Way
This Spring
It’s been a long three months of dreaded, cold weather and almost time to kiss winter goodbye. Those days of sitting by the fireplace, snuggled up in your warm woolly clothes and indulging in hot chocolates, with marshmallow toppings are slowly coming to an end. The time has come to peel off those layers of clothing and swap your loads of layers for skimpy, very unforgiving swimwear.
Don’t panic; you are not alone. When the weather starts warming up is the time when most people start thinking about getting back into the swing of things and of course, getting back their summer body. If you’ve gained a few kilos over the past months, don’t despair because spring is the perfect time to shape up.
The nice thing about spring is that you feel more motivated because of the bright, “happier” days and while you’re not covered entirely in layers of clothing, the weather is not quite hot enough for you to jump into your swimsuit straight away, which means you still have some time to get into swimsuit shape.
Why not use this time to secretly and effectively build your summer body?
Get moving
Start by setting your alarm an hour early and use that time to go for a run, jog or even a walk in the gorgeous outdoors — if not for fitness, then for the experience of watching the season change. Nothing is more beautiful than watching the transition when the trees start to bloom and everything gets greener. You will love the feeling and it will greatly benefit your fitness too.
Get fruity
Try to limit your consumption of high fat and high carb foods. Cut out the sweets and chocolates, replacing them with delicious fruits that come into season at this time.
Drink up
Water is essential to any successful weight loss plan so start drinking more H2O. Ideally you should be consuming six to eight glasses of water a day. In addition to its many benefits, water will also help you flush out the toxins in your body and make you feel fuller, so you don’t crave those naughty foods.
