Hypertension? Natural Ways to Lower Your Blood Pressure
Although in most cases hypertension is symptomless, in severe cases it can cause headaches, shortness of breath, dizziness and visual disturbances. Anyone who experiences any of these symptoms should see their GP immediately.
There
are plenty of non-pharmacological measures you can take to lower your
blood pressure, or prevent it from becoming too high. The British Hypertensive
Society recommends:
- losing excess weight
- taking regular dynamic physical exercise (such as a brisk 20-minute
walk each day)
- increasing your daily intake of fruit and vegetables (7 portions a
day)
- limiting your alcohol intake.
