What is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis?

Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) or chronic fatigue syndrome is a disorder characterized by muscular pain, fatigue, general depression and loss of memory and concentration. The cause is not understood but seems to follow on from viral infections such as influenza. Recovery may be prolonged and there is no specific treatment.
