Natural Menopause Relief

Women ExercisingIf you're suffering from severe symptoms of menopause you'll be happy to know that researchers at the University of Granada in Spain have found an answer. All it takes is three hours a week of exercise to reduce the symptoms.

In a study, consisting of women who averaged 60 years of age, researchers randomly assigned them to an exercising or non-exercising group. The women in the exercising group took part in supervised muscle strengthening, cardio, stretching, as well as relaxation exercises for 12 months.

At the start of the study, 50% of the women in the exercise group and about 58% of nonexercisers had severe menopausal symptoms. By the end of the study, the percentage of women with severe menopausal symptoms dropped to 37% among the exercise group and rose to over 66% among the others.

The exercise group also improved on measures of physical and psychological functioning and positive state of mind, while the nonexercisers declined in these areas.

So next time you're feeling that your menopause is just too much, check with your doctor and ask him or her to refer you to a biokineticist or personal trainer who can help you fight back with a suitable training program for your age and menopausal condition.
