What is Osteomyelitis?

Osteomyelitis is the inflammation of the bone by bacterial infection. Osteomyelitis starts as an acute condition but if the infection is severe or gets established, it may be extremely difficult to eradicate, even with the appropriate antibiotic, and will become chronic. The sufferer is often a child or teenager.
