What is Pernicious Anemia?
Pernicious anemia is a type of anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency, which results from dietary lack or the failure to produce the substance that enables B12 to be absorbed from the bowl. This in turn results in a lack of red blood cell (erythrocytes) production and megaloblasts in the bone marrow. The condition is easily treated by regular injections of the vitamin.
