What is Polymyalgia Rheumatica?

A rheumatic condition, usually affecting people over 50, that causes pain or stiffness, commonly in the neck, shoulders, and hips. It comes on suddenly and often prevents getting out of bed, and is easily disregarded by the sufferers who consider the symptoms are due to old age or vague rheumatism.
