When the Cotton Incorporated Lifestyle Monitor asked women of all ages (16- 70) where they get their clothing ideas, celebrities and fashion magazines made significant gains over last year. Celebrities were cited as a fashion influence by 15% of women, up from 10% in 1998. Thirty-two percent say that they get their clothing ideas from fashion magazines, up from 23% the previous year. The leading sources what women already own and like (50%), store displays (44%) and advertisements (26%) continue a downward trend. .
