Summer Skin Care Tips
You wake up on a beautiful summer’s morning. The sun is shining, birds are singing and everything seems just
hunky dory — it’s the perfect day for the beach, to have a swim or a picnic with the family. It is also the perfect
opportunity for you to take extra care of your skin.
Taking care of your skin should be part of your daily regime irrespective of the season. However, during the summer
months, taking care of your skin from the harsh rays of the sun should be your number one priority.

Here are a few tips to help you get your best summer skin care regime underway right away.
Clean up your act
Whether or not you wear make up, cleaning your face should become as important as brushing your teeth — every
morning and every night. And don’t think that any ordinary soap will do. For your face you need a mild cleanser
that is fragrance and chemical free. Fragrances and chemicals only contribute to skin irritations and clogged
pores.
Go for a trusted brand of cleansers such as Clinique, Clarins, Dior, MAC or any other cosmetic and skin care house with
a good reputation. Don’t go for the "cheap stuff" as you will only be cutting your nose to spite your face — literally! The
Clinique soap, for instance, can last up to 12 months, so it’s a small price to pay for good, clean skin.
Hype up on hydration
During the summer months, keeping your skin hydrated is vital in order to avoid any unnecessary, not to mention
unattractive dryness. Hydrate your skin by making sure that you are drinking enough water and also using a quality
moisturizer. For your face, make sure you purchase a specialist product — it may be expensive, but one bottle usually lasts
you about three months and it's well worth the investment. For the rest of your body, use a rich hydrating body cream such
as Aqueous cream, Johnsons and Johnsons or Nivea.
Splurge on the sunscreen
Never, ever leave the house without making sure that your face is well protected with adequate sunscreen. It doesn’t
matter if you’re going to be in your car the whole day, the rays of the sun are extremely powerful and can penetrate right
through your windshield. And if you’re deliberately going out into the sun for a picnic or to laze on the beach, make sure
you smear sunscreen all over your body every two hours.
