What is the Sympathetic Nervous System?

The part of the involuntary (autonomic) nervous system which acts to constrict blood vessels in the skin and intestines, widen muscle blood vessels, speed the heart, dilate the pupils, widen the bronchial air tubes, relax the bladder and reduce bowel activity.
