What is Typhoid Fever?

An intestinal and general infection by a Salmonella organism acquired in fecally contaminated food or water and causing high fever, diarrhea, a rash of small, raised red spots (rose spots), liver and spleen enlargement and sometimes bowel perforation and peritonitis.
