How to Organize your Wardrobe

One of the quickest ways to save a few minutes when getting ready in the morning for work, or when you’re glamming up for a night out on the town, is to have a neat and organized wardrobe.

How many times have you found an item in your wardrobe that you completely forgot you had? This is pretty common, and the reason it happens is due to a disorganized wardrobe. Save yourself a little time and more importantly, space with an organized wardrobe. Here’s how…

Wardrobe

Color Code

Keep your hanging items organized by color. This is a great way to help you find each piece easily. Start with all your black items, then move into lighter shades. For instance, you would go from black to brown, to red, to purple, to green, to blue, to beige to white and so on. Keep your clothes in this order each time you hang an item back into your cupboard.

Get Sorted

Reorganize all your items stored on your shelves and stack them by the type of item. For instance, stack all jerseys and cardigans in one pile. Stack all vests in a separate pile and stack all t-shirts in another pile. This will help you find the type of clothing you are looking for. If you have the space, you can stack each item on its own shelf and color code that too.

Store it

Get some storage boxes for all of your little items such as accessories, scarves, belts, gloves, hats, handbags and so on. Place each one in its own box, neatly folded or nicely rolled up. Not only does this save space and help you find what you’re looking for, but also keeping these little items packed away keeps from getting ruined. You can even get fancy looking boxes with vintage prints or various colors to help you identify each box.
