What to Expect When You Get Older
There is such a thing as aging gracefully, provided you know what you’re in for before you get there. As a pregnant mother reads up on what to expect when she’s expecting, there is no harm in knowing what to expect as you get older and if the change is worth getting more gray hairs over.
“When we age, a number of changes take place on and beneath the surface of our skin that can affect how we look and feel,” says Dr. Debra Jaliman, a dermatologist and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
Some of these changes include hair loss, adult acne, rosacea (redness, swelling vascular abnormalities) and leg veins, all of which can seem abnormal, but to a certain degree can be treated.
Regardless of your age, Dr. Jaliman suggests that if you happen to notice any unusual changes in your skin or there is something that concerns you, make an appointment to see your dermatologist who will be able to give you professional advice on your condition.
