What is Whipple’s Disease?

Whipple’s disease is a rare disease of the intestines, resulting in malabsorption of food. Symptoms include anemia, weight loss, arthritis, skin pigmentation, chest pain and nonproductive cough. It seems to be caused by microorganisms in the mucosa. It responds to antibiotics.
