What is Hyperventilation?
Rapid or unusually deep breathing. This may be physiological as during strenuous exercise or it may be pathological in brain damage, fever, poisoning, hyperthyroidism or in an acute anxiety state where it may lead to a change in the blood acidity and muscle spasm (tetany).
